Our PV Experience

|
Terra Solar's personnel have been involved in photovoltaics for
30 years. During that time, we made the decision to commercialize
thin-film amorphous silicon (a-Si) solar panels. For the past 10 years,
we have also been developing thin-film, copper indium gallium diselenide
(CIGS). Terra Solar, together with industry analysts, believe thin-film a-Si
and CIGS is the PV technology of choice for the coming decades because of
their cost advantages over crystalline and polycrystalline (xtl) silicon.
Total aggregate world production of a-Si between 1983 and 2004 was approximately
100MW, as estimated by Terra Solar. 70MW of that total production came from 12
manufacturing facilities Terra Solar's personnel helped construct. Nine of these
facilities are still in operation. The facility in Lens, France has been in operation
for over 20 years and is an example of the durability of Terra Solar's thin-film
manufacturing equipment.
